1. Log in to Medi-Tech version 4 (the blue-gray icon, not the green, red and yellow version 3) and select "RXM.CCS Contra Costa RX Management LIVE" then select “Process Rx Accounts.”
2. Enter patient MR number starting with a capital M (i.e. M22001234567, if there are any leading zeros you can skip them) and hit enter. You can also use a name (last, first) but you have to go through a few more steps to verify it is the correct patient. Your provider mnemonic will auto-fill. Hit the “enter” key, then type in your location (PHC, M1N2, RHC, etc.) and hit the “enter” key again.

3. Select the “Procedures” button on the right hand side.
4. Select as many labs as you want to order from the pick list shown. If you want to order a lab that is not shown select “Any Orders,” then type in the first few letters of the test you are looking for. If you still can’t find the test type “Mis” and select either “Miscellaneous Culture” or “Miscellaneous Test.” You can then free text the test name(s).
5. Select “Done.”
6. The service date (when you want the test to be done) defaults to “Today.” If you want to change this select on “Svc Date” and a menu of other choices appears. Select your choice or, if you want to select an unlisted day, select today’s date and a calendar will appear in which you can select a specific date. The service date for all your tests will be changed. If you want to secify a different date for one of your tests, select the service date across from that particular lab test only.
7. Select OK.
8. Select “Submit.”
9. Printing the lab slip: The lab currently requires a paper lab slip to process the labs. To print out the lab slip, scroll down (using the scroll bar on the right side of the screen and select “Diagnostics (Labs).” Individually select each of the labs you just ordered. Select “Print.” Select “OK.” When the print dialog box pops up hit the “space bar” key, then hit the “Enter” key twice. The lab order sheet should then print to your local printer.

Comments:
  1. We’ve requested a fix from MediTech in which the lab slip will automatically print (eliminating step 9). We don’t have a date yet as to when this upgrade will happen.
  2. There is a place to enter a diagnosis(es). At this point this step is not required.
  3. There is also a “CC” or chart check to provider function built in. That function is not currently active.
  4. Diagnostic Imaging studies are currently not available. This will likely be added in the future.
